All-Ceramic Crowns and Bridges
Lithium Disilicate
Ivoclar Vivadent’s lithium disilicate material revolutionized dentistry. High esthetics coupled with a flexural strength of 360-400 MPa made IPS e.max a versatile system to use. At Malcamp Dental Ceramics we use e.max and the new generation of lithium disilicate, GC LiSi, all-ceramic ingots to press monolithic crowns, veneers and copings in house. When exceptional esthetics and charaterizations are required we use GC LiSi layering porcelains.
Zirconia Crowns and Bridges
Malcamp Dental Ceramics offers zirconia frameworks for single units and bridges. Today’s zirconia options include high translucent and high strength formulations. For an exceptionally esthetic appearance the zirconia frameworks are layered using the e.max Ceram layering porcelains. Both anterior and posterior crowns can have the occlusal areas designed as monolithic zirconia with a facial cutback for layered porcelain for better esthetics. We also design full contour crowns in monolithic zirconia to be stained and glazed for placement in high force areas.
Implants
Custom Abutments
Malcamp Dental Ceramics works with many of the major implant companies using the original parts from the manufacturer. We discuss each case with you to determine the best design for the abutment and the appropriate restorative material to use to achieve the desired result. Custom designed abutments provide proper emergence profile for promoting soft tissue health and support. Custom abutments can be fabricated from zirconia or titanium.
Screw-retained Implant Crowns
Screw-retained implant crowns have the advantage of retrievability when repairs or additional medical treatments are necessary. A full contour zirconia crown is custom designed to fit over a low-profile Ti base and the two units are held in place with the screw. Since cementation is not necessary, the challenge of removing the excess cement is gone. The development of the angulated screw channel opens up opportunities to use screw-retained restorations for a wide range of indications.
Lingual Set Screw Implant Crowns
The lingual set screw design is another type of retrievable implant crown or bridge. The Ti abutment is custom designed and milled to create enough thickness and lingual wall height to allow room to tap for the set screw. The framework is then waxed up around the set screw, removed, invested, burned out and cast in the chosen alloy. If this technique is used for a bridge, it must be tried in the mouth and sectioned as needed for soldering to ensure the framework’s accuracy and passive fit. Good communication between the dentist and technician is crucial when utilizing this technique.
Metal Containing Crowns and Bridges
Porcelain-fused-to-Metal (PFM)
Restorative dentistry has relied on PFM crowns and bridges for decades. Malcamp Dental Ceramics casts frameworks using either Noble or High Noble alloys from Argen. After metal finishing and oxidization, the PFM restorations are layered using the esthetic GC MC layering porcelain system.
Full Cast Gold Crowns
In this day of esthetic, tooth-colored crowns there is still a need and desire for the functionality and biocompatibility of gold. We can provide your patients with beautiful and functional gold crowns. We use yellow gold alloys from Aurident.
Additional Services
Diagnostic Wax-up and Smile Design
The first step in ensuring a predictable and successful outcome starts with the Diagnostic Wax-up. We use the additive technique when appropriate to design a functional and beautiful smile for your patients. We require detailed instructions on the patient’s concerns and wishes, as well as photographs, accurate impressions or models, bite records, etc.Download the Diagnostic Wax-up Checklist for additional information.
Exocad Digital Design Software
Malcamp Dental Ceramics can accept .stl digital files from several of the chairside digital intraoral scanners. We use exocad digital design software to create models to be printed and design full contour crowns to be milled out of zirconia.
Panadent Articulator
In addition to the Stratos and the Hanau articulators, our laboratory also uses the Panadent articulator. The Panadent articulators are calibrated so that models mounted on one articulator can be accurately transferred to another articulator. Only the models need to be shipped between the dentist office and the laboratory. The unique design of this articulator keeps the upper and lower frames joined together during excursive movements. The Kois Adjustable Platform is used to mount the maxillary cast to the articulator. The platform can be adjusted up or down to a new incisal edge or occlusal plane position.
